Man's Best Friend was established in July 1980, in Houston, Texas by the Bolander family. Their vision was to provide dog owners an exceptional dog-training center, delivering individual assistance to each client. Obedience, behavioral problem solving, and individual and family protection services were now available in a private environment, with programs designed to fit each clients' specific goals. In 1988, Man's Best Friend expanded operations to the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex with the opening of a store in Grand Prairie, Texas.
